
Volunteer Opportunities
The mission of Kids Next Door (KND) is to provide high-quality mentorship, tutoring, and career exposure that empowers students in the Greater Washington, D.C. area to succeed academically, grow as leaders, and make a positive impact in their communities.
Kids Next Door Programs include (in-person & Zoom options):
► KND Tutoring & Mentorship: Tutors work 1:1 or in small groups with 8th grade students needing support with math, science and language arts (Tuesdays; 4:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.).
► KND Career Exposure: Young professionals (Mentors) in competitive careers lead short seminars introducing students to different career paths (Thursdays; 5:00 p.m. - 5:30 pm.).
► KND Community Service & Leadership: Volunteers interested in social justice or community service aid students in leading impactful community events (See our website for event dates).
► KND Law & Debate Camp: College Students on the law or communications track lead this camp, supporting public speaking, debate, and mock trial activities.
► KND Shark Tank Camp: Business students lead this camp, guiding participants as they develop business ideas, pitch to mentors, and practice entrepreneurship and teamwork.
